Midwest Morel Fest @ Jordon Block

LEARN, HUNT, BUY…MOREL MUSHROOMS during Ottawa’s Annual Midwest Morel Fest.  This unique festival offers ‘everything mushrooms’ from the morel enthusiast to the curious observer!  All events take place at Jordon Block Park (Main & Rt 23/71N).  This year enjoy a Morel Market, a large Botanical Market. And don’t forget  MOREL UNIVERSITY where you can learn to identify morels then take off for a guided hunt.  We have set aside land JUST FOR YOU!

Educational hunt has limited availability.

13+ presale $30 until April1, $35 April 2 to April 27, after April 27 at the door price $50.

12 under presale $15 until April 1, April 2 to April 27, $20 after April 27 at door prices of $35.

730am Hunt & Morel Market sign-in (Must register and check in to go on hunt or to sell mushrooms)

8-830am Morel University (Learn how to hunt morels)

845am Busses depart for guided hunt

9am-4pm Morel Market – morel mushrooms only

8am – 4pm Vendor Market

10am Mother’s Day Craft(free while supplies last)

9-1130am Guided Hunt

12pm-3pm Kaedon Cronkright performs 

1230pm Awards

 

Morel Market MORELS & HALF-FREE MORELS ONLY No elephant ears, red ear, beefsteak, etc.

Got morels??? Sell them at the Morel Market.

• Package morels by half pound weight in plastic zipper bags. (Don’t seal the bags…whew!) • Bring them in your own cooler • Our certified experts will inspect all mushrooms prior to sale. No inspections between 8:30a – 12p. (Washed and soaked mushrooms will be rejected for health reasons) • Due to public health restrictions, all mushrooms must be sold through the festival market. Anyone discovered selling unregistered, uninspected product will be escorted from the festival. • Tables will be supplied (6 tables/12 vendors) A charge will be determined.

Run Today for Tomorrow @ Virtual

Run Today for Tomorrow’s 5th annual 5K is back!! All proceeds go to local Mental Health resources and a mental health scholarship for local students. The goal of Run Today for Tomorrow is to bring hope and provide help to those affected by suicide. We’re running today because we believe in a Tomorrow where everyone is here to see it☀️
Join us on June 22nd for our in-person race or virtually you can run around your neighborhood, on a trail, or on a treadmill, post your results, and help share our message with the world!
Whether your participation is in support of the cause, in honor of a loved one, your personal health, or your personal struggles, we encourage you to participate and let your reason drive you to the finish line. #TomorrowNeedsYouHere

 Join us for the 2024 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Illinois Valley on September 7th at Jordan Block. We hope you’ll join us as we take to the streets of Ottawa to spread awareness and raise funds for those impacted by Alzheimer’s and all other dementias. Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk @ Washington Park

While the Out of the Darkness LaSalle County Walk is going to look different this year, our mission to Save Lives and Bring Hope to Those Affected by Suicide has not changed. We are a strong and resilient community, united in our effort to fight suicide, raise awareness, educate our communities, support those who have lost loved ones, and support those with lived experience. We use our voices and share our stories to provide hope. We invite you to join us this Fall for an Out of the Darkness Experience. We’re working hard to plan meaningful opportunities to connect and inspire you, and we will share more details about our exciting plans in the coming weeks. We want to keep you up-to-date with the most current information so be sure to sign up and join us here!
